The Cleveland Browns and other such things
Having the Browns beat the Steelers is always a great addition to the NFL season. However, yesterday's game was really great because I see more black and yellow in this small town than necessary for a lifetime! Needless to say, it was a great weekend for Ohio sports fans! The Bucks beat Michigan and the Brownies beat Pittsburgh! Regardless of a wonderful week of football we're all still missing out on what winter is all about...hockey. I'm a big Blackhawks fan (being that CLE has no NHL team) and I'm wondering what everyone thinks about this lockout. I think it's selfish on all ends of the spectrum to keep their negotiations going this long. So many people working for the arenas and even local bars and restaurants are being hard hit by being out of work. To me it seems that fighting over a couple of million dollars isn't quite worth it when it is affecting people who are making minimum wage. It's a pretty safe assumption that nobody in the NHL is starving or cold without their .5mil. It was brought up in church yesterday that it's important to know who you're serving. By this stage of their negotiations I think both sides are self-serving because they are refusing to give in or compromise. Thoughts?

My Fav Running App
Really cool technology: My favorite app invented so far is mapmyrun. I've used it a few times since being home because I've had to come up with new running routes from this new house. It's a great app because you can create a map that tells you the distance of your run and your average mile pace when you drag a line (the mapping tool) along the roads, trails, and alleys you've run down. It also has a feature that details the incline and decline of the roads. Being that I live in Northeast Ohio most of my maps are an even plane. Unfortunately, we don't live on a stretch of road with sidewalks. Yesterday on my run I almost stepped on a dead black cat and jumped about 10 feet into the air (I'm not certain if dead black cats still constitute as bad luck like the living ones do). The good news is that the sidewalks start about 1/4 of a mile past the train tracks. My whole family enjoys running, save for my older brother, and my dad just finished assembling a new treadmill since the old one got left behind at the old house. Treadmill running is extremely boring so I'm excited that this one has an iPod jack and speakers built in!! It's snowing so I'll try out this new treadmill later on. On a non-tech related note Buckeye fans are celebrating once again because OSU finished their season 12-0 beating that hideous team dressed in blue and yellow 26-21!

Black Friday
Yesterday and today blended together into one extra long day and I've been thinking it's Saturday all day long. We had thanksgiving dinner at my Aunt's house with my Mom's family and had a good time hanging out with everyone there. Later on, my best friend came over and she joined me, my mom, and my cousin Black Friday (at midnight not on Thanksgiving when the stores are starting to open)!! We hate how the departments stores have turned Black Friday into shopping on a family holiday. But anyways, walking around the stores for a few hours was good exercise after a big Thanksgiving feast!

Home Sweet Home
I got home yesterday afternoon and it's still weird to get to my parents house. They moved soon after I left for school so this is my third time at their new place. I feel like a stranger not knowing my way around my Mom's kitchen! We live pretty much right on the train tracks so some things rattle around when a train comes by and I was 1 car away from getting stuck behind it yesterday on my way home. Thankfully the gates went down right after I passed over. Anyways, it's really nice to be home with everyone (my older brother got home a few hours before I did). It was a good day, very grateful to be back. I think I'll put off school work for the rest of the day and then get finished with my e-folio and other work I had to bring home. Good thing this house has wireless internet!
